Remony Fortriu Throw Stone

The Pictish Kingdom of Fortriu is recorded in the 4th to 10th centuries C.E. The fascinating and incredibly detailed designs, carved into stone, stand as testament to the sophistication of their culture. In The Fortriu Collection these geometrically complex designs, from the later period, have been carefully translated by artist, Elaine Ogilvie, and woven in soft merino lambswool, using colours reflecting the palette of natural dyes which would have been available at the time. The result is a surprisingly contemporary collection with a historical provenance reaching deep into the history of the British Isles.
